SERIES 300THE WORST-DAY BUILD

160

MPH DESIGN WIND

PE-STAMPED — IBC / ASCE 7

Built for the day your insurer imagines.

Gulf counties, Atlantic counties, mountain wind corridors — where the published number is the whole conversation, and most greenhouse companies quietly stop returning calls. The Series 300 is engineered and stamped at 160 mph so the conversation is short: their number on the desk, our number on the stamp, next question.

TYPICAL — GULF + ATLANTIC COUNTIES, MOUNTAIN CORRIDORS · RATING UPGRADE PRICED IN YOUR QUOTE — SAME-DAY

01THE SCALE

160 isn't a brochure number. Put it on the hurricane scale.

At 160, everyone in the room takes the number seriously — the county, the bank, the insurer writing a policy on a building full of crop. What they're all really asking isn't whether you found a strong building; it's whether you can prove it on paper. The scale on the right is NOAA's, not ours. Read where the stamp sits.

Don't know your county's number? It's public — asce7hazardtool.online, one call to the permit desk, or tell us the county and a Greenhouse Expert reads it same-day.

THE SERIES 300 STAMP SITS HERE

160 mph is Category 5 territory on the Saffir–Simpson scale.

  1. CAT 5157+ MPHMAJOR — a high percentage of framed structures destroyed.
  2. CAT 4130–156 MPHMAJOR — most of the roof structure and some exterior walls fail.
  3. CAT 3111–129 MPHMAJOR — well-built homes lose roof decking and gable ends.
  4. CAT 296–110 MPHMajor roof and siding damage; near-total power loss expected.
  5. CAT 174–95 MPHWell-built frame homes: roof, shingle, and siding damage.

03THE PERMIT DESK

Three desks stand between you and a building. One document clears all of them.

DESK ONE — THE COUNTY

The reviewer opens your application looking for one thing: a licensed engineer's seal on plans rated at or above the county's number. Every building we ship includes that set — PE-stamped structural plans, engineered with Foresite Group in Peachtree Corners, Georgia. You file our stamp; the desk gets exactly what it asked for. Competitors typically bill that stamp as its own expensive line. The cheapest quotes can't produce one at any price — which is what the cheap quote actually costs.

DESK TWO — THE LENDER

If the building is financed, the bank asks the county's question with different letterhead: is the collateral a real, engineered structure? Same stamped set, same answer — send it with the quote and a three-week loop usually closes in one email. Buyers plan for the county and get blindsided by the bank; you just planned for both.

DESK THREE — THE INSURER

In hurricane counties there's a third desk: the carrier writing a policy on a structure full of crop. Underwriters ask for engineering the way lenders do — and a stamped 160-mph plan set is the difference between a conversation and a shrug. Ask your agent what documentation moves the premium; then ask us for the documents. That's what they're for.

And before any desk sees anything: send us the quote, and a Greenhouse Expert confirms your county's published number against your configuration — same-day, before any money moves.

04THE BUDGET

Everywhere else, meeting spec inflates the project. Here it changes one line.

The industry's answer to a higher wind rating is more steel, more crane, more weeks — the rating taxes every line of the project. Ours doesn't, because the rating lives in the frame package and nowhere else. Every series arrives as the same 364 pre-assembled pieces and goes up with the same four people in the same ten to fourteen days. That gap — not the sticker — is where your budget survives.

05THE PACKAGES

The frame is the decision. The packages are the fit.

Every line here is the real book — the same prices the builder charges. Nothing gated, nothing “call for pricing.”

Covered American Roots greenhouse on a fall install

COVERINGS — ROOF & SIDEWALLS

Three skins for three budgets: reinforced poly for pure economics, the inflated air-gap system that cuts heating load hard, or twin-wall polycarbonate for the decade-plus building.

10ml reinforced poly$1,800 · $1,200
Air-gap poly system$2,800 · $1,800
Polycarbonate panels$7,200 · $6,800

ROOF · WALLS — PER BAY, PER 100 FT

Glazed gable endwalls at the Georgia factory

ENDWALLS

The endwall is the building's front door and its cold wall. Polycarbonate keeps the light; insulated sandwich panel (IMP) turns the wall into an envelope — the cultivation favorite.

Polycarbonate$4,800
Insulated panel (IMP)$6,500

PER BAY

Inside the frame — the air volume under the arch

VENTILATION

The passive system moves the building's air without burning a watt to do it — sized to your length, priced by the segment, in the open like everything else.

Passive system$4,000 + $500 / 20 FT

PER BAY — SEGMENTS OVER 60 FT

The frame at night — photoperiod is the point

LIGHT DEP

Interior light deprivation — photoperiod control inside the structure, so flowering runs on your calendar instead of the sun's. The line most cultivation quotes start with.

Interior light dep package$9,999

FLAT

The roofline from inside — where the shade runs

SHADING

Automated roof shading takes the mid-summer edge off the canopy before the cooling bill does — it works the same shift as the Cool Lock™ frame, from the other side.

Automated roof shading$8,000

FLAT

A truss connection, up close

DOORS & DETAILS

From a standard walk door to a sealed 9×9 roller for the loading end — plus the small hardware that keeps a grow tight: screens for the bugs, traps for the light.

Doors$450 – $3,200
Bug screens$850
Light trap kit$2,500

06THE WORK

Same building. Two kinds of grower.

GENERAL AG — IN PRODUCTION

GENERAL AGRICULTURE

Season extension that turns into year-round production.

Open truss with no interior posts shading the rows, passive ventilation that moves air for free, and coverings picked for crop economics. It's already hard enough making a profit on lettuce — you shouldn't be fighting your greenhouse environment.

  • PASSIVE VENTILATION
  • AIR-GAP COVERINGS
  • OPEN TRUSS — NO POSTS
  • GUTTER-CONNECT TO SCALE

CULTIVATION — ON PAD

CULTIVATION

Most of our buildings hold cultivation operations.

Interior light dep for photoperiod control, light traps and sealed roller doors for discipline after dark, insulated endwalls for the envelope — and the PE-stamped plans your county and your lender ask about before anyone talks harvest.

  • INTERIOR LIGHT DEP
  • LIGHT TRAP KIT
  • INSULATED IMP ENDWALLS
  • SEALED 9×9 ROLLER

07THE BUILDING

This is the structure your county is rating. Turn it over yourself.

The actual frame — white to the last bolt, open truss, no interior posts shading the crop.

08THE WORST DAY

The day the map prices, hour by hour.

A HYPOTHETICAL MAJOR LANDFALL — THE SCENARIO YOUR COUNTY'S NUMBER EXISTS FOR

6:10 PM

THE FRONT

The gust front arrives ahead of the rain. Loose structures start shedding covering; yours is bolted through welded steel.

11:40 PM

PEAK GUSTS

The hours the design wind speed describes. Every member, bracket, and carriage bolt is doing exactly the arithmetic on the stamped sheet.

2:00 AM

THE LONG MIDDLE

Wind backs and veers as the system passes — load reversing direction, which is what the bracing was drawn for.

7:00 AM

MORNING

You walk the rows with coffee, checking crop, not structure. The neighbors are on the phone with adjusters.

PLAINLY

If your county asks less than 141, don't buy this building.

The Series 300 exists for the counties that demand it. Everywhere else it's money that belongs in your climate equipment. The Series 200 at 140 or the Series 100 at 120 clears most of the map — and we'll tell you which on the first call, even though it's the cheaper sale.

09THE REST OF THE LINE

The worst day is already in the engineering.
