Series 100 vs 200 vs 300: which wind rating do you actually need?
Here's the secret that makes this the easiest decision on your project: you don't make it. Your county published a design wind speed years ago, and the series number simply has to meet it. Five minutes of lookup replaces the whole agonizing comparison.

Every series is the same platform — 30-ft modules, 14-ft sidewalls, 364 pre-assembled pieces, one kind of bolt, snow rated 60–80+ lb. The series number is the design wind speed the frame package is engineered and PE-stamped for. Nothing else about the building, the crew, or the timeline changes.

Building codes in nearly every U.S. county reference ASCE 7, which maps a design wind speed to every square mile of the country. Three ways to get your number, fastest first:

Then the rule is mechanical: take the county's number, pick the first series at or above it. A 115-mph county is a Series 100 building. A 130-mph county is a Series 200. A 150-mph Gulf county is a Series 300. The permit office isn't grading effort — it's comparing two numbers, and the stamped plans hand them the comparison.
03 — SHOULD YOU BUY UP?
When the bigger number is worth it — and when it's just a bigger number.
Some buyers in 120-mph counties ask for the 140 anyway. Two honest cases for it: your insurer prices the building's rating (ask them — some do), or you're within a county line of a higher-wind zone and may expand or relocate. Outside those, we'll tell you to keep the money — the Series 100 in a Series 100 county is fully code-compliant, fully stamped, and the savings belong in your climate equipment, not in wind you'll never see.

The upgrades aren't free and we don't pretend otherwise — Series 200 and 300 frame packages are priced in your quote, because real engineering varies with configuration. What never changes: same 364 pieces, same four-person crew, same 10–14 days. Meeting a harder spec doesn't re-inflate the project here.
What wind speed rating does a commercial greenhouse need?+
Whatever your county's building code publishes — most U.S. codes reference the ASCE 7 wind map. Most inland counties fall at or under 120 mph (Series 100); coastal-adjacent and plains-corridor counties run to 140 mph (Series 200); Gulf and Atlantic coastal counties and mountain corridors can require 160 mph (Series 300).
Is the higher series a different building?+
No. Same platform, same footprint options, same 364 pre-assembled pieces and 10–14 day assembly. The frame package carries the rating — that's the only line that changes, and it's priced in your quote.
Can I find my design wind speed myself?+
Yes — the ASCE 7 Hazard Tool (asce7hazardtool.online) maps it by address, or your county permit office will tell you over the phone. Or give us the county and we'll check it against your configuration same-day, free.
What about snow load?+
Every series is rated for 60–80+ lb snow by configuration, which covers the great majority of U.S. snow zones. If you're in a mountain heavy-snow county, tell us — that's a configuration conversation, not a different product line.
