How much does a commercial greenhouse cost in 2026?

Most manufacturers won't publish a price until you've sat through a discovery call. We think that's why greenhouse projects die in spreadsheets. So here is our actual price book — the same one our quote tool runs on — with four worked builds and an honest list of what these numbers don't include.

A complete building starts at $51,050. The frame alone is $40,000.

Our base frame — one 30×60-ft bay, 14-ft sidewalls, rated for 120-mph wind and 60–80+ lb snow — is $40,000. Dress it as a complete starter building (reinforced poly roof and sidewalls, polycarbonate endwalls, a door, passive ventilation) and it's $51,050. Stretch to the 30×100 most commercial growers actually price and you're at $73,250. Big multi-bay projects run into the mid six figures — the largest worked example below is $364,250 for 18,000 square feet.

Per square foot, the building lands between about $20 and $29 depending on size and covering — bigger buildings are cheaper per foot, because the frame math rewards length and gutter-connecting bays. If a competitor quotes you a much lower number per square foot, check what it covers: a hoop house and an engineered commercial greenhouse are different products wearing the same word.

The frame is $40,000 for the first 60 feet, plus $10,000 for each added 20-ft section. Widths grow by gutter-connecting 30-ft bays, and every bay after the first is 10% off — the columns and gutter are shared, so you shouldn't pay for them twice. Everything else is options, priced like this:

Notice the per-square-foot number falling as the building grows: $28 on the starter, $20on the three-bay campus. Length is cheap and bays share structure. It's why we'll usually tell a grower planning two small houses to price one gutter-connected building instead.

The honest list. Read it before you budget.

Any greenhouse price that claims to be "all-in" without seeing your site is guessing. These are the lines that live outside our book, and you should budget for them on any manufacturer's building:

What you should not see on a bid for our building: a separate engineering line. PE-stamped structural plans are included with every building — engineered with Foresite Group in Peachtree Corners, Georgia — because your permit office and your lender both ask for them. Competitors typically bill that stamp as its own expensive line item.

The sticker isn't the price. The project is the price.

Don't take our word for the size of the construction line — the largest greenhouse company in North America publishes it plainly on its own website: construction commonly runs about twice the cost of the materials. Materials, plus two-times-materials in construction — that's a project at three times the sticker before a single light turns on. It's the honest math of stick-built, stated by the people who sell the most of it.

Ours breaks that multiplier. A conventional greenhouse arrives as thousands of loose parts and a construction project: specialized crews, cranes, months of labor, and an engineering bill. Ours arrives pre-assembled down to 364 pieces joined by one kind of carriage bolt, and goes up with four people in ten to fourteen days. That's where the money is — not in the sticker, in the construction line your project budget was bracing for. When you compare quotes, compare totals: structure, engineering, labor, weeks. That's the number that hits your bank account.
